The Big Chill 2008

I went to The Big Chill at Eastnor on Sunday and loved it! I haven’t been to a festival in a while so putting up the tent that my boyfriend has had under his bed since 1997 (I’m not joking!) was a bit of a challenge…not to mention the toilets, but it was worth it.

Some of my highlights were Jilted John who sang a fantastic new song, Keira Knightly eat your dinner. Being too young for Jilted John the first time round I have never heard of them before but they got the whole crowd going on the Castle Stage. I hope they make a comeback.

We saw Jeffery Lewis in the Media Mix tent who sang along to his own cartoons which were projected on big screens. I particularly enjoyed Mitch Benn who took the mick out of every musician from Coldplay to The Smiths. This provided some light relief from some of the TRUELY AWFUL comedians we were subjected to.

We also saw the legendary Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry who performed some action dub painting which involved him painting during the performance.

The Big Chill had an amazing, happy vibe in very beautiful surroundings. Bring on the mud and the portaloos again next year.
