Belfast

Two weeks ago I went to Belfast. I’m so glad I didn’t go this week. Looking on BBC News you can see Broadway underpass which we crossed when we got a little lost and it is now under water. They say that 3 weeks of rain fell in just one night.

We were so lucky I didn’t book for us to go a week later. I have a fantastic time and so I thought I would leave you with my top 10 things to see and do in Belfast in case you decide to visit:
1. Take an open top bus trip from Castle Place you will learn a lot and save your legs.
2. Go to City Hall and ride on the big wheel and get an amazing view of the city
3. Listen to traditional Irish music at Fibber Magees
4. Be brave and do an open mic spot at John Hewitt’s
5. Have a Guinness in Whites, the oldest tavern in Belfast
6. Have more Guinness in Muriel’s Bar
7. Have a meal in The Morning Star, originally a coach house
8. Take the bus to Aunty Sandra’s Candy Factory to sample old fashioned sweets and watch them being made.
9. See Thompson dock where the Titanic was built
10. Get yourself a bargain at Best Vintage in Wellington Place
The people of Belfast have the best sense of humour, as you can see from the shop signs.
